Bedroom fitting price guide

Your bedroom is one of the most important parts of the home, and it’s essential to update the decoration from time to time in order to create an appeal that looks great. There are plenty of options out there too and you can customise the bedroom exactly to your personal tastes, with the colours, the bed, the furnishings and accessories.

How much you spend on the bedroom will vary depending on exactly what you’re after. The good news is, no matter your budget you should still be able to alter the look. Effectively, the more you spend the better quality you’ll have.

For example, you can purchase a double bed frame from a home store for as little as £79. These tend to be bedsteads you’ll need to put together yourself, but once completed they still offer a good look. At the top end of the price range you can spend over £1,000. These beds will have an ornate and fantastic aesthetic appeal worthy of the cost.

The mattress is something else you can decide on price wise, depending on the quality and type you opt for. Memory foam mattresses are often seen as a luxury and costs typically range from £400 to £1,000. Cheaper mattresses, such as the pocket sprung variety will be available for around £200.

With the bedroom you can opt for fitted wardrobes or freestanding ones. Both have their benefits and drawbacks as you’d expect but fitted wardrobes will provide you with more space in the home. Freestanding wardrobes are the cheaper option, but prices will still range depending on the quality and whether or not they come flat pack or ready built.

Then you have the carpet. Like all of the above the price is heavily affected by the quality you purchase. Experts suggest bedrooms should ooze comfort and be softer underfoot. If you were picking a hallway carpet you’d opt for a cheaper option that is hardwearing. The bedroom requires something completely different though. Make sure to look at a number of colours depending on how you want to decorate your room and even take samples home to test out with your colour scheme.

Effectively when it comes to the bedroom you can spend as much or as little as you want. For instance, you could completely refurbish the bedroom for £500, but adding more quality in certain areas will see you spending a bit more.
